JOHNSON

The House Strap

Some designs don’t try to be special.
They just stay.

Johnson is not about standing out.
It’s about being there.
Day after day.
Year after year.

It’s the strap you start with.
And very often, not the last.

WHY THE JOHNSON EXISTS

Johnson was born from a simple idea:
to design a strap that never gets in the way.

The starting point was a classic 1950s guitar strap:
shoulder pad and tail.
Nothing more.

Then came the exercise.

To turn that classic construction
into a single piece of leather.
No joints.
No added parts.
No shortcuts.

Just one continuous form.

A quiet design challenge.
Solved with proportion, balance and restraint.

That’s how Johnson started.

A MASTERPIECE OF FUNCTIONAL DESIGN

Every decision in the Johnson design follows the same rule:
nothing should age badly.

The width is intentional.
The taper is subtle.
The shoulder pad and the strap become one.

What looks simple is the result of precision.

Johnson doesn’t compete with the instrument.
It supports it.

It disappears when you play
and feels better every time you use it.

That’s the whole point.

HOW YOU LIVE THE JOHNSON

Johnson is always the same design.
What changes is how you choose to live it.

Relic
For guitars with history.
For players who like wear, marks and character.

Aniline Brown
Pure, clean and honest.
Elegant today. Better tomorrow.

Cowhide
Bold and present.
Perfect for stage use.
Strong personality without being loud.

Crocodile
Quiet elegance.
A statement without noise.

Same strap.
Different ways to make it yours.

CLOSING

Johnson is usually the first one.
And very often, not the last.

LEO SCALA · GIBSON

Master Artisan Collection

Blue Bell was commissioned to design and craft a custom leather strap
for the Leo Scala · Gibson ‘58 Addiction Explorer project.

A series of ten unique instruments, developed as part of Gibson’s
Master Artisan Collection, inspired by the original 1958 Explorer.

Each guitar was conceived as a complete object.
The strap was designed to match that idea:
presence, durability and character, built to live with the instrument.

This design uses reinforced leather and exposed riveting
as part of its structure.
Nothing is decorative by accident.

A strap made for the stage.
Bold, functional and built to last.
